also, if it helps i get Result Code 86-811 when i try to connect
i just did this and it connects, but when i unplugged the Ethernet from the HR34 and plugged it back into the CCK now I get no connection again.harsh said:You might try plugging the Ethernet cable straight into the HR34 and see what happens.
You are moving a bit too fast here and that is why you are losing connectivity with your MRV.detroit_fan said:so i don't need the CCK? I can just go Ethernet into back of HR34, then the HR34 will supply internet to my HR21 &HR22? Since the CCK has a coax running from it to the "Signal to IRD" input do I leave that there?
My MRV keeps messing up too. The HR22 doesn't see my HR21 now, and had to reset the 34 again to get it to see the HR22.
Without a router, each receiver assigns its own IP address, and the SWiM has nothing to do with this, as it doesn't have the capabilities.BobStokesbary said:When you don't have your router in the line, it gets its addressing from your SWM system. When you have your router working correctly it gets its addressing from your router.
You need to disconnect the CCK if you are using direct ethernet to the HR34. However the open end of the PI's "To IRD" port should have a 75 ohm terminating cap.detroit_fan said:ok i am plugging my ethernet directly into the HR34 and resetting everything. My CCK is connected to my "signal to IRD", can i just unhook that and or does it need to stay connected?
I had 2 coax lines running to the living room from before i had the swm installed that went to my HR21. he took 1 of those lines and ran it directly my hr34. the other one he connected to the "power to swm" port on the power inserter, then connected my CCK to the "signal to IRD" port on the inserter.BobStokesbary said:OK. I guess I am just dense here. But, why isn't the "to IRD" coax port connected directly to your HR34? You should just have a straight line from your receiver to the PI and the "Power to SWM" coax going to your splitter and then to your SWM LNB. What else is in the line? This is the way mine is connected.
OK. Well, now that you don't need the CCK just don't use that line and take the signal off the PI. Hopefully, you have the terminator that was on the splitter where your ran your second line.detroit_fan said:I had 2 coax lines running to the living room from before i had the swm installed that went to my HR21. he took 1 of those lines and ran it directly my hr34. the other one he connected to the "power to swm" port on the power inserter, then connected my CCK to the "signal to IRD" port on the inserter.
ok thanks. i guess i am just going to have to get the installer back out here because he needs to do this the right way. as it stands my HR34 is not connected to my PI at all.BobStokesbary said:OK. Your final setup should look something like this:
HR34-->PI "to IRD"--[PI]--"Power to SWM-->Splitter-->SWM
HR21-------------------------------------->Splitter
You only need to cap any unused ports on the splitter. This is similar to my setup and it works "swimmingly".
Well no, you don't necessarily need to have the PI in the same cable run to the HR34.detroit_fan said:ok thanks. i guess i am just going to have to get the installer back out here because he needs to do this the right way. as it stands my HR34 is not connected to my PI at all.
