My wife just got me a 2 room DirecTV package for Father's Day (did I mention that I love her?). She signed up for the one year protection plan at Best Buy, but can cancel that in 30 days. We usually don't sign up for such things when we buy electronics, because either the equipment is bad out of the box and covered by waranty, or will take more than one year to fritz out anyway. Add to this that we got a super sweet deal (about $50 installed for 2 rooms), so if one of the receivers dies on us I don't feel like we're out a lot of money.
So I bring my first post to the assembled wisdom/experience of this forum: should we cancel the protection plan, or is it a good idea to keep it? Is there anything inherent in the equipment that needs a month or two to shake out? I guess I'm asking what people's personal experiences are within the first year? Thanks,
Christopher
