New to Directv

Hey everyone,

I placed an order for Directv yesterday afternoon around 2, I am new to Directv I have always had cable but I thought I would give Directv a try will the credit check went though and everything and I am schedule for tomorrow from 12-4 and Directv.com reflecs this also but I like to call to confirm so I called and was transfer to a rude rude rude agent who said I am unschedule I was like what I already took off work cause Directv schduled me for tomorrow he said sorry he could book me for Tuesday I said no let me talk to a super.

After being on hold for 20 minutes a nice guy named Chris who said he was a super on the floor answer the call he said he did some research and the installaion was not unschedule what has happened is the local Tech has not sent back a confirmation as of yet he said most of the time they do it as soon as they get the work order so he is not sure why they havent sent back the confirmation yet but said it could be because I placed the order later in the day on Saturday so since it is the weekend they should confirm it with Directv first thing in the morning and for me to call back tomorrow.

I was just wondering could this be the case or am I screwed waiting around all day for nothing tomorrow?

Welcome to dbstalk!

Its reasonable to assume that a Sat order does not get confirmed until Monday. By 9am Monday you should be able to confirm your scheduled install.

What equipment did you order? Anything special like a Genie? Did you ask for anything in particlular?

I only have 2 rooms right now so I order the Genie as well as the Genie Mini Client.
When I upgraded back in Sep. I never got a confirmation call from the installer. It only was reflected on my Directv account.

Excellent choice and products. You will enjoy them.
After the install, it may take up to 48 hours for all the Genie features to appear.

Perhaps the CSR meant "ON schedule" all pending orders are on "schedule" status until the tech "acknowledges" the work order in the morning.

Don't jobs stay in "Unscheduled" status in FS markets before they're pined to a tech? Much of Alabama is FS now.

AshleyB, I don't suspect you need to worry. It sounds like your scheduled for the day, but just aren't scheduled a tech. If your in the new type of routing, you wont have a tech scheduled to you until the day of, and even then only an hour before he's done with the previous job.

Calling in again would probably result in the same conversation. If the website says you're good, don't worry.
Thanks everyone! The Tech called this morning and said he would be here between 12-4, so I am good to go :)
