Newer H2X receiver question...

This question is for the receiver newer than H20's HD DirecTV receivers. I noticed that there are ethernet ports on the back of those receivers. I'm keeping in mind that they are non-DVR ones. What is the purpose of the ethernet ports on the back of those receivers? I know on-demand is on the DVR's by use of high speed internet but the non-DVR's???

Potentially could be used for:
-Widgets
-PPV Ordering (instead of phone line)
-Multi room viewing from DVRs (MRV)

Though nothing is active or setup yet, it could happen sometime. I dont think VOD is likely as there is no hard drive to save the content too.
Will be very happy when the ethernet port is working on the H23.
