I get
CNN, HNN(CNN Headlines) We used to get CNN International on CNN Financial late at night but when CNN discontinued the channel we lost CNN International.
We have FOX News, CNBC, CNBCW (i'm thinking it's Europe/Asia but never watched it) Bloomberg and CCTV-9.

The PBS in my area shows BBC News in the evenings.

Don't really care, I have Fox News, Bloomberg and ESPN News, don't need anything more. Never watched CCTV when I had DirecTV, I have CNN International, no interest in ever turning that on, the Sky News stuff doesn't interest me when coverage is on Fox. What I get is good enough. I'd rather have more HD then more news channels.

I used to watch BBC news. Its nice to get a perspective from outside the US. doesn't matter if you lean left(CNN) or right (Fox) both are from a decidely "American" perspective. It is nice sometimes to see how others in the world approach certain topics.

i really would appreciate if CNNI, BBCW and France24 are carried by both the carriers for a nominal charge.

CNN and Foxnews are little substandard compared to the above channels.

Yes we need more diverse news in the US. Whether it be from Canada, the UK, or the south pacific.
There is DW TV - english and german for 9.99 per month.
Link TV 9510 on E does show DW Tv and some middle eastern news in english. There is BBC America.

TV News is mostly pictures and blather. You want perspective, do what I do: read several different print media outlets via the internet. Far more detailed, less inclined to ratings driven news gathering. I don't need or want 12 news channels. A couple will do. I'll get my news over the net, thanks, where I can get a much larger cross-section of world news.
