Here's another reason to have DISH network. Many cable customers will not get tonights NFL game between Broncos and Chiefs. Check the article at:

That's one of those things where the NFL Network hopes when fans don't realize their favorite team will be available to be seen on their cable systems, they'll start to call their cable company about adding the channel. Basically the NFL Network will use the fans to get the channel added. They couldn't do it just because their the NFL Network in recent years. But now they feel since they have games, that'll do the trick, but so far it hasn't worked.

It'll be interesting to see as the season progresses what happens. The NFL was a bit clever about this when they set up their schedule. If you notice some of the teams that probably have more fans scattered from coast-to-coast are on the channel. Teams like Dallas, Pittsburgh, Miami, Oakland are on there. Teams with fans concentrated in small areas won't do much on a broader scale in terms of getting more cable companies to come on board.
If one is that much of a fan it seems there is a bigger reason to have D*.
All I know is that the only game on NFL network I care about will be shown on a local broadcast station, pre-empting NBC programming! No need for the NFL network! :)

Speaking of NBC, that's what the NFL should've done instead of trying to put these games on their own network. Have NBC do that 3rd game of the day on Thanksgiving. It would've made for a nice Triple-Header package for the day. CBS and Fox could've still alternated the early and late afternoon games from year to year and then NBC would cap things off with the primetime game.
Right, start your own network and put the games somewhere else.

The real problem is cable companies that have NFL NET but NOT the right to show the games (how is that even possible?) Insight is giving me the royal holiday run around and I didnt find this little jem out till 10:00 last night!

If I could work out a wayy to get locals via antenna without a huge mast, I would switch to Dish tomorrow!

I pay a high price for digi-catv and they tell me that the games are too expensive and they do not want us to be extorted, yet they just raised my bill and added the tennis channel, 2 horse racing channels and PBS Sprout!
Watched it on Dish for no more than 5 Minutes !!

Hurt my eyes....as usual "Quality Sucked" !:nono2:

Removed from my List !!
I think they got the wrong Gumbel. I never did like Bryant... I have, however, always liked Greg Gumbel. Bryant just gets on my nerves, and it sort of seemed like he was mailing it in.

If you've never watched the NFL Replays I think you're missing out, it's a great way to watch the recap of a game, all the main plays with no talking delays for penalties, time-outs, replays etc. and the add in some post-game commentary from players and coaches. I watch everyone they show each week, even if I watched the actual game. My only complaint is that it's not consistently in HD, even within the same game (see other thread on this topic).
Once the game is over, and I know the score, I have no interest in watching a game over again no matter how its packaged. Others might. But I actually attend the games I am interested in watching when I can.
