So, late last month I called D* to attempt to get NFL ST SuperFan for free. And I was successful and recieved a $99 credit immediatly to my account. Today my first charge for SuperFan appeared on my bill for $16.50 (I believe it is a 5 or 6 pay plan). And I didn't wan't this, instead I wanted it to just go through as a one-time charge of $99 to offset with the $99 credit I received. So I call D* today and ask If I can have the flex pay changed to just the one-time payment of $99. The CSR is quiet for a few moments then asks me If I would like to get SuperFan FREE instead this year...??? Im thinking in my head 'well I already got a $99 credit for SuperFan' hehehe. "Sure, that would be great!" I tell the CSR. She then credits the $16.50 charge and takes SF off my account then re-adds the Special SF FREE offer to my account at $0.00. This is insane. Some people can't get SuperFan Free at all and I just did twice! I can say I got SuperFan for minus(-)$99!

Well I didn't get it free. I also didn't push it, and call in. I believe the OP should have said. "I already have gotten my credit" and not taken another one. That would be the right thing to do. The morals in todays world just astonish me. Shame on the OP. In my world he just stole $99 :nono2: :nono2:

I knew someone would say something to ^this note^. Please, most anyone would have done the same thing and let the CSR do what she did. I just let her do it. I never asked for SF free again. And I did NOT get another credit. I received one credit previously and now I got SF at $0.00. Plus alot of people have gotten SF free with additional credits (like 12 months=$10) and even free HD DVR's. So I think you are out of line by saying I "stole" $99.:sure:

Bro i am not crying. Serious. I could call and ask. I surley would get it. You were not honest. The deal was $99 and a $99 credit. You got $99 credit and then didn't pay the $99. To me you stole $99. I don't mind paying for what I want. I also don't mind people getting it for free. You got it twice. Some called and didnt get it once. Then you come in here and rub thier face in it. Look at you no morals. You should have said. Mam, I already got a credit I just want to pay once. That would have been right. This is exactly the reason my bill was over $180 this month. D* has to make up for thier losses!!!Come on down to the business I run. That way I can throw you out . Is this what you teach your kids? It's shameful and dishonest. I hope you are proud of your self.

Kind of strange you would then advertise this to the list as well; almost feels like absolution by confession gesture. If really not an issue, just post your DTv account number here publicly as well. (Guessing you won't!)

Where's the theft? I think calling someone a thief is a pretty serious charge. Certainly it could rise to the level of libel/slander.

If the OP's initial post is accurate I don't see him as a thief at all. He called and asked to have a bill changed (in DirecTV's favor). I guess the CSR thought it easier to just give him the service for free. DirecTV has a system that allows them to see other credits and notes so the CSR should have been able to see a detailed history of the account and chose to give the customer the service for free. Maybe the account warranted another giveaway...if the CSR had offered a year of HBO for nothing would that have been different?

If he had called up and said I never got the credit that would be one thing...he didn't. Did he have a duty to explicitly tell the CSR he had already received a credit? Perhaps...

DirecTV has a long history of a myriad of giveaways. This just appears to be another one of them.

I am not trying to tell you what to do. In life you have to do the right thing. It could end up that you call. The supervisor your on the phone with says. Thanks for being honest, keep the credit, and have a nice day. That would be doing the right thing.
