Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown also moonlighted as part-time QB today,as the Dolphins beat the Patriots earlier in the day at Gillette Stadium.
He scored a team record 4 rushing TD's and threw for another TD in the Dolphins 38-13 victory over the Pats.
The loss ends the Patriots' NFL mark of 21 consecutive regular season wins.
Oddly enough, the Patriots 21 game win streak started after a loss to the Dolphins back in 2006.

I was pleasantly shocked. While I hate the Dolphins, it was a nice change of pace to have the undisputed worst team in the NFL of recent time, beat what some may consider the best team in the league in New England none the less. A 38 point game for the Pats, damn sounds like a year ago, oh wait...

I remember when I lived in Erie, PA. Bills fans hated the Dolphins the most. I guess with how crappy Miami has been recently and how strong the Pats have been there is definatly a reversal in rooting intersts. I was at the Vikings game today and the fans cheered when they heard that score. I guess there's no love for the Pats anymore.

What I'm most confused by...

People are questioning the QB and saying "I guess he isn't up to it after all"... and yet I'm not hearing what I really should be hearing, which is "where did the New England defense go?"

Miami could still have won the game with a meager offensive output by New England, and then questioning the QB would be fine... but from the highlights I saw it looks like NE never stopped Brown from throwing and running into the end zone... so even Tom Brady would have had a tough time keeping up with the way the defense let them down today.

Correct. Even with Brady, I think the Pats would have lost today. Although, I haven't heard anyone questioning Cassle.

How on earth you use the same trick play FOUR times to score FOUR touchdowns is byond my capacity to comprehend! Kudos to Miami for basically saying "we're going to keep doing this as long as you're going to let us".

It's an interesting set of bookends. This streak (regular season winning streak) started the week after New England got pasted by the Dolphins 21-0 two years ago and now ended with another smackdown from the Dolphins.

The Miami/Buffalo rivalry pretty much ended when Kelly and Marino called it quits. In the 2000s both teams have been equally as bad and have changed head coaches and starting QBs so many times. I don't think anyone considers this a rivalry anymore, hell 2 years ago when the Dolphins came up here, the game didn't even sell out, which 13 years ago would have been unheard of and I haven't heard the phrase 'Squish The Fish' in years.

There really is no Bills/Patriots rivalry, Bills have had nothing but losing seasons and the last time they beat the Patriots was week 1 of 2003 when the Pats got shut out 31-0, but they returned the favor week 17 in Foxboro when the Bills got shut out 31-0. I just have really come to dislike the Patriots, after really thinking about it. Last year, like 99.9% of the people who follow the NFL, I was convinced they would go all the way, then after seeing the Pats fans reaction to the Super Bowl loss, I didn't want to be associated with a bunch of crybaby fans, who were brianwashed to believe their team deserved to win it all and that Tom Brady and Bill Belicheat were the second coming. It was cool yesterday on The Blitz when they showed herds of Patriots fans storming out of Gillette before the game was over. I guess the beating was too painful. Cocky, arrogant, sore losers, that sums up Boston sports fans pretty well.

Interestring fact Chris Berman brought up. This is the first time since week 6 of 2003 that the Patriots did not have the lead or a share of the lead in the AFC East. As much as I'd like to see it happen, I hope the Bills never have a perfect season or never go 16-0, which looking at the schedule, this year there is a slight possibility, I see at least 8-0 to start. If for no other reason, I don't want the fans here to turn into a bunch of whiny crybaby pricks like in Boston.

The 'whiny crybabies' are, I'm willing to bet, late-coming so-called "fair weather fans" who never had to:

- Endure 2-14 or 1-15 seasons
- Have their head coach quite just before the playoff and have ownership take him to court to force him to coach the playoff game.
- Have their star wide receiver inexplicably but up his hand with a knife on the eve of their first Super Bowl appearance
- Have their head coach nearly killed by electrocution from a poorly wired microphone at a news conference.
- Have to cross a 4-lane highway to get from their dressing rooms in a hotel to the stadium.

This was absolutely wonderful!!! I know my Dolphins have been atrocious as of late, but words can not express my HATRED of the Patriots...& I know all Dolphins fans feel the same their cockiness, their roster being full of ex-dolphins, their supposed lock at having a perfect season(HA HA...I so called the Giants winning the super bowl after they beat Dallas in playoffs)....and I couldn't believe people we're still picking them to do good this year...They were a dropped TD pass from OT against the absolute worst team in the NFL this season in the KC, Barely beat the NY Jets, who were way overrated!! & did any1 else notice how the NFL scheduled to what they thought would be a cake walk to starting off The Pats to at least mid-season being undeafted....I Guarantee they will NOT come close to making the playoffs, It's finally over for them!! even when Brady comes back he won't be the same & the rest of the team will have even gotten worse!! The fans better get used to leaving in the early 4th quarter a lot more often..

My personal hatred towards the Patriots would make a Sox-Yanks hatred look like a happily married couple.

I just chalk it up to, "one for the bookies". If NE is going to throw one, might as well be the biggest odds, then the bookies make some of their money back.

Same reason I believe Ed Hochuli is in trouble. It was too obvious, so NFL had to make him their fall guy.

History says we need to wait for NE to lose some more games before passing final judgment. During the Joe Montana years with the 49ers they would almost routinely lose a game to someone like the 4-12 Rams or something on their way to the SuperBowl... and I remember another of the good NE years when they lost to a bad Cincinnati team... so one loss doesn't make or break the season this early.

That said... their defense was sorely exposed and outplayed in a surprising way.
