Do I understand correctly that if my local Fox for example is not HD on Directv that I will not get the game in HD as part of the Sunday ticket?

Thanks

As I understand it, the NFL Sunday ticket is for out of market games only. If you are watching your local team and it being televised by your local fox channel, it would not be part of the Sunday ticket lineup. You could use an OTA antenna, and most likely get the game in HD that way, assuming of course, that your local OTA channel is sending out a signal in HD. Sometimes, if your local team has sold out its statium on the day of the game, it may be carried on one of the NFL channels, but generally it would not be carried.

thats sounds correct....u have to watch local teams on the local channels....for example the giants are a local team for me so the game against the rams would be on fox which is channel 5 for me....everyone else would get the game on say channel 714.....my local fox affiliate is hd and fox does all their games in hd so it would be hd for me....but if your local fox isnt hd than the game would not be hd for u unfortuantely.

Last year the HD version of a local game would not be blacked out but the SD version was unavailable... I think with SuperFan they will keep the HD version on - but only if your local is airing the game as well and your team is not completely under blackout.

At least thats what I noticed last year...

Once again :D I must point out that this is incorrect (the statement that HD was not blacked out).

It all depends on your market.

In my market my local CBS HD games were not blacked out on Superfan.
But my local FOX HD games *were* blacked out thus forcing me to watch my local station's feed, and that didn't start until halfway thru the 2006 season.

The HD feeds are *supposed* to be blacked out but in many cases are not. To the OP the only way you'll know if you're lucky and your Fox HD game is not blacked out on ST is the first week.
