NHL Network to tackle U.S. market

TORONTO - TSN and Insight Communications are doing what few Canadian broadcasters have been able to do - take a channel into the U.S. market.

Beginning with next hockey season, The NHL Network, the Canadian category two digi-net which is jointly owned by the National Hockey League, Insight and TSN, will launch Stateside on satellite and cable as part of an enhanced NHL Centre Ice package.

The 24-hour channel which features multi-game highlight shows, team analysis and commentary, instructional shows and classic games will be distributed in the U.S. by DirecTV and to American cable operators by In Demand.
