I live in San Diego and just lost all of my local HD channels. When I called Directv, they said that they have had some issues with lost local HD channels recently. Also, if the channels are not back online within 48 hours, to call them back. After the call back they said they would replace my receiver.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Is it the receiver or satelite?
These damn locals better come back before Ohio St vs Michigan or I'm gonna blow up!!!!

I think I'd call back if I were you. I've got an HR20 and live in Carlsbad and my HD locals have been working fine. There are some minor issues (brief sound glitches on KGTV and the 8mm effect on KFMB), but nothing so bad as to say they're out for 48 hours.

In the Dallas TX area also have no HD Locals on my HR20. I think it is something wrong with the sats I have had no recent updates to warrant this?!?

That had a similar problem last week... I wasn't up at the time of night you guys posted, so I couldn't check Chicago's.

Do you have them back yet?

Glad to hear it's not just me because my HR20 has been working great and I was afraid this is the beginning of problems. All SF Bay area locals have been gone all morning.

My locals finally came back online late last night but I didnt get a chance to see if it was working this morning before I went to work.

I think its a satelite issue and not the receiver.
BTW, I'm in San Diego.

That is so weird. I really didn't have a problem and I live about 30 miles north of you.

Looks like the SF Bay area HD locals are back online

Could be they are updating the MPEG4 encoders at these locations and having issues which are killing the uplinks. But if there is a time to have to do it (assuming the uplink must go down during the upgrade) I'd rather see it at 2 am then just before prime time.

Is 10pm considered Primetime? The local HD's were shutdown from approx 9:30pm until 11pm pacific time. Basically I recorded a black screen for CSI Miami.

Yes. Probably just an unexpected outage then.

Same here. This is the second time this has happened in the SF area, I lost them last week only for about 8 hours.

Well looks like my locals are back. They were on when I came home tonight so I've no idea how long they were out.
