I just got a free upgrade to an HD-DVR, got an HR 22-100. #1, it does not work with the remote booking, but I noticed there is no menu option to dial out to directv from a phone line.

I am a long time tivo user, so my question is - how does the HR22 update if it does not connect by phone?

Your box gets all its updates from the sat feeds... And you can hook up the internet connection instead of your phone line and get additional functions.... And it will work with remote booking.. It may take a day or two for it to reflect, but it will work... You should read the threads

They will help you A LOT at learning how the HR works over the tivo...
