Weird issue started this weekend. I am getting 0 signal strength on only the ODD transponders and only on 103(c). Evens on 103(c) are all strong. All other even/odd sats/transponders are strong as they have always been. Same issue is seen on all HR20/HR21s in the house.
We use a WB616 multi-switch. Could the multi-switch have gone bad where it only affects the odds on a single sat?
Thanks for any advice!
Understood. I have an appt setup for this Saturday. :dozey:Jason Perlow said:Its the multiswitch or an LNB failure. Get a tech onsite right away. Please. Take it from me as a gift.

The multi-switch is inside the house and relatively new so I suspect the problem is with the LNB. Ill let the service tech climb up there to check things out.K4SMX said:It could also be as simple as a connector issue. Check the WB616 dish-side connector marked "13V + 22kHz" for looseness/corrosion. The connector on the other end of that cable at the LNB would then need checking, too, but you'd probably want to leave that for the service tech.....

You got a CSR who actually knew what she was talking about. Those two channels on your HR20 come from DirecTV11 (99(c)), and on your HR10 they come from 101 and 110.y2k02c5 said:Well yesterday Noticed that 292 and 501 were not working. kept getting a 771 on sat 2.
Called DTV and sure enough the 103c odd wasnt working correctly. (According to test channel 480. The phone rep had me unplug the b band converters and swich the coax. still didnt work.
after a couple of reboots, it still didnt work. now i've got a permanent "Acquiring data" box on the screen during regular viewing.
Tech is coming out on sunday to resolve it. Funny thing is, my old Hr10-250 in the other room works just fine on these two channels. she said they came off a different sat for that unit.
I'll try to remember to post back on my results
Yea, she was good. she didnt sound like she was reading from a script. as soon as i told her what was going on she had me go to the test channels.K4SMX said:You got a CSR who actually knew what she was talking about. Now with the new Slimline dish, all signals are strong and steady. The tech said he did see some water corrosion the wire connectors. He wasnt sure if that might have been the cause of the issues though.Fastman314 said:After about 5 days of having the new multiswitch installed, my odd transponders on the other satellites went to 0 (103(c) is mostly fine this time). DTV tech coming again this Saturday (3rd in a row) to replace the dish with a Slimline.

Well the tech came out today and replaced one of the b-band converters and then he checked out the LNB, and replaced that as well. all channels lookin good.K4SMX said:You got a CSR who actually knew what she was talking about. You're still a little out-of-alignment, but let's see if the BBC and LNB fixed your problem with CH's 292 and 501.y2k02c5 said:Well the tech came out today and replaced one of the b-band converters and then he checked out the LNB, and replaced that as well. all channels lookin good. .....
Both channels are workin fine now. He said everything looked good on the roof.K4SMX said:You're still a little out-of-alignment, but let's see if the BBC and LNB fixed your problem with CH's 292 and 501.![]()
