No TNT HD = $5 off a month for 6 months + 1 Month of Showtime

Your TNT HD Channel 75 was turned off at 10 AM CDT 10/22/06 and will not be turned back on until 5 PM CDT.

I called to complain because yesterday I scheduled shows on TNT HD to record. Today they are gone.

They have resold the bandwidth I bought. I had only paid $10 per month for my HD Channels. They can sell my bandwidth for $249 to football fans as NFL Sunday Ticket.

There is no mention on their website or any materials that they will do this.

The CSR apologized and gave me $5 off a month for 6 months plus Showtime free for 1 month.

If enough of us call, maybe it will be an issue for them. Regardless, they took the bandwidth we bought and sold it to someone else without telling us.

They owe you the credit. Call Customer Retention at 800-824-9081.

There's a quick $30 for you just because you read this forum.

Take the Poll to let us know what they say to you...

This is old news. I can understand everyones complaints but I am a ST subscriber and hardly ever watch TNT HD so you know where I stand on this. I have been paying $10 a month for over four years now. Back when I started watching HD there were only 3 channels. Don't worry though next year there should be plenty of bandwidth. You need to add a "Don't care" item to you poll. That is where my vote goes.
Yep I would vote "I Dont give a damn" as well. Old news. ST Superfan sub here as well.
Yep, we need an option of "It's really not a big deal".
Interesting. I have had the HD package for 2 years and hadn't notice this before. I guess I am too busy watching NFL games on Sundays.:)
how about an option for those who feel its petty to ask for a credit for something so insignificant. there are a lot more important things i would rather be doing with my time... not to mention the fact that D* looks back at these sort of things when you call and ask for deals on new equipment. its just not worth it imo.

I agree with you Sloth! It isn't worth my time to screw around getting a measly $30 for something that I wouldn't be watching on Sunday anyway. I don't even figure that I really pay anything for TNT HD anyway as they gave it to us and dropped the monthly HD fee a buck. I don't want something like this on my history with D* as it may interfere with me getting my HR20, AT9 dish and some new cabling free when I need it next spring. I've never paid D* a cent for any of my equipment or installs etc. in nearly 7 years and I want to keep it that way. The whiners may get a few bucks in credit once in a while but I'll wait and get the whole shebang free!:D
Sorry you missed some non-HD stretcho-vision this afternoon on TNT-"only HD sometimes" HD. ;)
Its not petty to the person who wanted to record those programs. Shame on you for denigrating his position!

I don't think of it as "reselling bandwidth", but I am cheesed if I cant record the show I want, or if the R15 fails to record more then one minute of the last 2 "Biggest Loser" episodes (it did fail, btw  ).

Why should the OP be any less upset when a PREMIUM channel he pays MORE for then other channels is taken away for several hours?
If you legitametly lost out on something you where expecting to watch...
Then I have no issues with you calling to discuss a credit option.

But this isn't new... this is the 7th week it has happened.
Sorry if you are just finding out about this now... but it has been all over some major forum websites (including this one)... and other "News" websites.

So if you did miss something on that channel..
Do complain to DirecTV, but also to TNT as they "agreed" to the situation.
(wouldn't surprise me if that is one of the reasons why HD package price went DOWN a $1 when TNT was added)

i never said he had to agree with my position..... but in all reality if a $30 credit makes you feel better about not having TNT-HD for that brief window, it really isn't much of a problem.
My position is, I'm paying $10/mo for a premium subscription, and if it constantly is not available, I should receive a credit. If you subscribed to HBO, and one of the HBO channels was out for several hours once a week, wouldn't you be upset? You probably bought HBO because you want to watch HBO, not just so you can pay more $$$ a month.

BTW, I just signed up for the HD channels and am getting the first four months free, so I'm not going to bother asking for a credit. If I didn't get that promo though, I would definitely be calling up (we watch a lot of TNT, do wish it was true HD more often, but oh well).
They should credit us, ALL HD customers, $1.33 actually, each month until they can provide ALL of what we're paying for.

D* should own up and realize there is a legitimate gripe with the HD package, and credit everyone with that package accordingly! Why do we have to take it amongst ourselves to call them to get what we rightfully deserve?
You need another option.
"I lost TNT-HD (stretch-o-vision) but it doesn't matter to me."
As long as they make it up to us by adding oodles of HD when possible, I'll be happy!

Shouldn't they only credit anyone who complains 36 cents per month? That would be 28 hours of missed TNT-HD X the HD package cost of 1.3 cents per hour. I bet 95% of the people asking for months of free programming never even watch TNT. I don't get how they're justifying their requests.

Actually, shouldn't it only be like 4 cents per month? They only take 1 of the HD channels offline, so 1.3 cents per hour for the HD package needs to be multiplied by the fraction of the HD package that is unavailable.

The question should be...why are they removing TNT-HD, but yet they keep adding more SD channels? The God Channel...the Arabic Channel. Talk about channels that are less utilized, but they are still being added while "HD" content is being pulled.
