Nomad volume problem

I haven't had much luck with a search on this subject, but I have the Directv Nomad and an Ipad3. Everything seems to work fine with one exception. The Volume is very low. I am certain this is not a problem with the Ipad because all other audio sources have adequate volume.

When I am watching a show on the Ipad which has been transcoded by the Nomad, it starts out with great volume level. about a ten to fifteen minutes into a program the volume suddenly drops very low and I have a hard time hearing it even with the volume cranked all the way up. This usually seems to take place during a commercial and the volume never comes back up afterward. I don't know if the commercial has anything to do with it or if they just seem to put commercials into television programs about the same time into a show and it is more of a coincidence.

I can rewind the show and find right where the volume drops low every time. I love the Nomad otherwise but this is very annoying. Does everyone else share this problem and is it something I just have to live with? Customer service is clueless. My Nomad device is still under warranty for another seven months but this seems more like a software problem rather than hardware. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had a problem with low volume on Nomad recordings generally (I have an iPad 1) but that was from the very beginning of the recording. I usually watch Nomad recordings on airplanes and the background drowned out the audio. Since the last update, it seems better (on my trip last week, I was running at about 70% volume).

A big part of the issue is the different volume levels on the sources. I know I am often turning the volume down during commercials and back up again during the program. Perhaps the transcoder adjusts the gain to prevent overmodulation based upon the loudest passage encountered?
That's a possibility. Thanks for the response. NOBODY else has experienced this? Is it that much of an isolated problem???
Nomad playback on my iPad1 has always been at lower volume than other apps
Mine starts out OK, but part way into the program the volume level drops way off. I guess this is not a common problem due to lack of response. I am now beginning to think it is a hardware problem and I should look into having Directv replace my Nomad under warranty.

If it starts after a commercial, it may just be a volume limiter kicking in. The transcoder software in the Nomad may not be smart enough to raise the volume back up after it encounters a commercial with very high modulation.
Haven't noticed the issue on my end.

I also haven't noticed any volume problem but I'm generally using bluetooth headphones - or cupping my hand on the iPad speaker to sorta listen.
Having the same issue.

Audio starts out great, then drops to the point where you have to turn the audio all the way up.

iPad 2 and 3 having the same issue.
