Not allowed to tune to Comcast SportsNet BA HD channel but can tune to its SD channel

Sorry if this issue has been addressed before, but here's the deal--Comcast SportsNet Bay Area is my regional sports channel (I live in the Sacramento CA area); whenever I try to tune to the HD broadcast of a game (at the moment it's Giants baseball) on the CSNBA HD channel I get the "Channel Not Purchased" message. So...why is it that I'm permitted to watch the SD version of the Giants game that's being broadcast on CSNBA but not allowed to tune to the HD version that's on CSNBA HD?

And yes I subscribe to the HD programming package; the funny thing is that when it was Fox SportsNet BA I was able to tune to the HD channel, so I am puzzled as to why now I'm apparently not permitted to access the CSNBA HD channel. I don't think it's a blackout issue--I mean, what sense would it make to blackout the HD broadcast of the game yet not blackout the SD broadcast? :confused:

Okay.

There are a few things you can try. You can try refreshing your services by going here:

https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/mydirectv/mysystem/mySystemResendAuthorization.jsp

If that fails, go to this webpage:

http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/globa...7_A&_DAV=-1&_dynSessConf=-3293348813045403032

Plunk in your zip code and see what is available to you.

If you are not getting what the page says you should get, call DirecTV and point this out to them.

I had that same problem and a service refresh fixed it. When you refresh though, give it a few minutes and do all of your receivers. My question, though, is why no HD feed on Saturday vs. the Dodgers when it should have been in HD? Hmmmm...

Didn't have the HD Marlins feed yesterday either. Went to the FSN Fla website and they posted a note that due to the Olympic coverage the HD broadcast on 8/9 and 8/10 would not be available.

Which makes zero sense as they only added two channels for the Olympics.

I scratched my head too. They(Marlins) are in HD tonight and the Olympics are still going strong. Go figure.

Pure conjecture. They are so busy at DirecTV right now. Moving RSNs. Adding channels starting this week. Setting up the Olympics. Adding LiLs. etc etc that they just didn't have the people to make it all happen. Satracer has said that Sunday Ticket, for example, takes manpower to happen, so why not EI?

Thanks for the link--I went ahead and did a refresh; however, since there isn't any HD programming scheduled on CSNBA HD for the next few days or so (or at least nothing that I can see in the programming guide) I won't be able to find out anytime soon as to whether the refresh did the trick.

If that fails, go to this webpage:

Thanks for that link too--I plugged in my zip code (95765) and get:

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (Ch. 696)
* Athletics (HD Available)
* Giants (HD Available)
* San Jose Sharks (HD Available)

Comcast SportsNet (West) (Ch. 698)
* Sacramento Kings (HD Available)

I did call D*--the CSR asked me to provide the exact message and code # that was being displayed when I tuned to the HD channel (696-1); of course, that message will appear only if there is something actually airing on that channel at that particular moment...and as luck would have it, there was nothing airing on CSNBA HD when I called D*. :nono2:

Guess I'll have to wait until the Giants are back home--since CSNBA HD hardly carries any Giants HD telecasts when they're on the road--before I can troubleshoot any further.

Thanks for your help in any case!
