While on my way to an install this morning, NPR featured a story about customers being on hold and spending countless hours waiting for customer service. Ironically, the featured on-hold music is used by Dish. Check it out:
Great story. And what's even worse is waiting on hold for 25 minutes, then reaching someone at Dish who speaks poor english and does not understand the problem or somehow messes up your account and you have to call back and do it all over again!
I don't mind the "poor" English as long as I can comprehend what they are
saying. Usually, 'their' English is better than my Spanish, Tagalong, Farsi,
Afrikaans, Russian, Polish or sing-song Indian.
My nightmare would be having to depend on my own second-language skills
to support a family.
