I haven't seen it on my recordings on either my HR20-700 or HR20-100, but at this time of the year I don't record much off of the lcoals.
It sounds like you have some sort of setup problem. I watch the mpeg4 NYC locals every night and never had a problem.Rabushka said:I have been having this issue for some time. The NY area locals pxillate and go black after sunset. They can come back anytime before midnight. The HR20-100 is able to bring in 2 thru 7 but not 11 and 9. The two HR20-700s are able to get 11 and 9 but not the lower channels.
During daylight hours all locals are fine on all DVRs regardless of weather or temperature.
Signal strength on all birds is at or near maximum.
Dish alignment, bad LNB, old dish, etc. I would suggest getting a new Slimline dish.Rabushka said:What sort of setup problem could it be since the problem occurs only between sunset and 9 or 10 PM? What do you suggest?
By the way, I am not in NYC but 50 miles north in Westchester county.
And you actually believed that nitwit?Rabushka said:I called D* and spoke to the tech department. He said this is a known issue caused by sun spot activity. He said it usually disappears by late summer.
This makes sense to me bcause it is not logical for Dvrs, Dishes, or Lnbs to stop working only at certain hours and only at the start of summer.
