DTV replaced my HR20 700 last Thursday 1/4/07, after numerous compliants to the Tech service (mulitple levels). Since it was shipped to me and I was able to install it I decided the only change I would make was to not hook up the Off Air Antenna. I get all of the major market channels via satellite. Since Thursday, I have had no BSOD, no remote control lockups, very few "repeats" recording on the first run only setting, no re-boots!!!!

The only issue that has since occured is that on Sunday (the fourth day) the Caller-Id stopped working again.

I am not sure if the OFA has anything to do with the problems, but so far so good.

I am sure I have now jinxed the whole setup, but I wanted to pose the scenario.

Welcome, Erich!

It's very possible that OTA is a big part of the problem with the latest release. Unfortunately, for a lot of folks here, OTA is a big part of their experience and roling it back isn't a good option for them.

Please keep posting here, though, because for some people disabling OTA is an option and it might be good to know how you're doing.

Erich,

I have antenna hooked up to OTA and use it. I have a stable unit (knock on wood) with no BSOD, no re-boots.
