1). Can you expand the hard drive size via the USB port as of now? Can you replace the hard drive inside the unit? (yes, I know it will viod the warrenty).

2). Will the 622 work with sling box?

3). Is the ethernet activated? What is it used for?

4). Can the 622 output all video at the same time? i.e. HDMI and composite?

5). Any other advantages/disadvantages from the H20?

Can it record two HD (From sat) at once?

Will there be a way to expand the hard drive in the future?

1) Been demoed at trade show but not yet released. It appears to be superior to the SD one that DirecTV has out but I could be wrong on that since I have neither.

2) Sling Media just recently fixed their software to fully support the 622 as long as your remote in on ch 1. I have mine working now!

4. I believe you can but keep in mind there are additional options such as dual and single mode. To fully appreciate the answer you will need to understand how these different modes work and the pros and cons to each. Options are there.

5. The main advantage of Dish is programming choices as they have the most HD channel selection.
The second advantage, I think is the PQ on HD channels looks far superior to DirecTV. I have both!
But as far as hardware goes, the 622 is a bit awkward on certain things like NBR as compared to the TIVO and limited OTA local options as the TIVO had two OTA tuners. I don't know the features on the H20 you had, sorry.

It has three tuners (two satellite and one OTA) and can record from all of them at once.

Internally, no; technology demonstrations have been done using external USB drives.

Making significant hardware modifications to leased equipment probably isn't a good idea.
