I have Total Choice Plus which apparently does not exist anymore. I attempted on-line to add Cinemax. It would not allow me stating that I need to change my base package to do so. It appears the equivalent new package is $3 more per month.

Is there anyway to keep my old package and add Cinemax otherwise I will not add. Seems to me they would allow since it is still more revenue for D*.

They no longer allow you to keep an old pkg. if you try to change your programming. I just made a change last weekend and had to change my package as well. I had the same TCP plan that you are on.

Sorry.

Same thing happened to me recently when I tried to add Showtime online. However I was able to add it by telephone (using their automated system) without changing my old package. Remember, once you change packages you can never go back to your original. Must be something messed up with their online system.

You CAN add cinemax without losing your old package, I do it all the time. From time to time I add HBO or Showtime for a month, for events (boxing, mma) I want to watch. All you have to do it call them and do it over the fone with a CSR. I have done it at least 10 times over the last few years.

Call them up.

DOH!

:icon_dumm

I guess I should have called. When you try to change anything online a pop up window would appear that said I couldn't change without first changing from my old package to a new one. Click here to continue with package change.

Oh well, chalk one up for Directv.

well u could always drive to el segundo & tell them there.
Not true, there are also regional call centers with drive through service, if that is closer....

I had the same issue, called them, and made any changes I want. I have an old Total Choice package that has the Golf Channel included, so I don't want to ever change.
