On Demand question

I do not subscribe to any premium movie channels currently & saw that the 2nd season of Dexter is available to download via On Demand. Can I subscribe to Showtime for just a day to download these? If so, when I cancel Showtime, will I still be able to watch the already downloaded show? They prorate when you cancel, right, so it would only cost me a couple of bucks at the most?

NO. Once you cancel showtime you'll get 'Searching for Authorized Content'
And cancellling within 30 days is a $10 fee
Some downloaded content expires too, right?

So even if you didn't get the "Searching for Authorized Content", it might auto-delete after 24 (?) hours.

Does your library have DVDs? Our library has an amazing collection, and with inter-library transfers, I've watched some great stuff.

Might be worth looking into to (if it's out yet, or maybe a free Netflix trial).
OK, I’m a big Dexter fan and I can tell you the show *is* worth going to some trouble to watch! My advice, though, would be to just buy it on DVD. I watched the DOD version, but it’s letterboxed SD (yuck!). At least if you buy on DVD you’ll get better quality, and can watch at your own pace. The first season it out now and is ~ $30 retail. The second season comes out Aug. 19th (by the way, do NOT buy the 2nd season on DVD from eBay right now - you will get crappy illegal copies recorded from Showtime or VOD!).
Thanks guys, I have Netflix and actually watched the 1st season online through Netflix over the last couple of days. I will just put them in my queue and get them when they come out.
