I have been using ondemand for about 2 weeks with a HR21-200 connected via the powerline adaptors from Directv. It has worked very well. Last night I come home and when I went to down load something I get a message to call to activate the service. I went into my account online and noticed that it no longer is listed under my services. It had been there along with DVr and HD. Has anyone else had this happen? When I called Directv they sent me through a trouble shoot and nothing changed. I asked them why it would come off the account and they said they had no idea that it must be my box.
That just seems strange to me because why would it come off the account? It does not seem to be the box. I have checked the internet and tested the system and it all shows it is connected.

I would go into Setup, Network, and reset your settings. Once you have a successful test, that should signal DIRECTV's servers to enable On Demand within 24 hours.

Oh, and by the way, go down to Weirs Beach and have some fried dough for me!

Hmmm, I seem to have also lost On Demand. When I go into the network setup, everything tests out ok except for the internet. It's pulling an IP address, everything checks off as "ok" and "connected", all the way down to "Internet", and it says it's not connected. Obviously, my network IS connected to the network. I can see the IP lease in my router. I have no restrictions applied to it. I used DOD to test it out when I first got it a couple weeks ago. I just tried to go in now and it doesn't work. Only difference I can think of is it got a software update since the 1st time. I did the "reset defaults" and tried to connect again, but no use. :(

just not enough good material to watch and they want to charge you for movies that are 5-10 years old?
I would gladdy pay to see the Charlton Heston version of Omega Man... Neither our Block Buster nor library has it, and I don't subscribe to NetFlix or anything... Wife never saw it, and after seeing I am Legend, I wanted her too. So personally, I think it has some value, if movies are priced right.

And anyways, If I want to watch it tonight, I'll download it this morning... No big deal...

The fact that you don't pay for it until you actually watch it, means if that if something does come up and I can't watch it, no big deal... I'll just DL it again... I have yet to try a PPV VoD, but that's my understanding of how it works. However, I think you start watching it, then the clock starts... Not sure how long it sits on the HDD waiting for you to watch it.

Even if I wanted to pay for an old movie I should at least have the option to record it and watch it when I want. This you need to watch it in 24 hrs just sucks.

I think the rest of the forum as an idea of your opinion by now. :)

This doesn't mean we all share it though.
