DISH installed one Hopper and two Joeys at my house this past weekend. I previously had DirecTV. I've had a few days to explore the features and functionality of the system, and one thing I relied on before which the Hopper cannot do (verified with support via chat last night) is the ability to list the programming schedule for a single channel using the guide. The DirecTV receivers would let you move to the left in the guide to highlight the channel logo and use Info to get the programming schedule list for that particular channel. Nice feature when you want to see what's on HBO for the next several days, for example. I asked the support person to submit an enhancement request.

I miss that too. The closest thing I've found is to press the right arrow while tuned to that channel and scroll across. I believe they call it browse on the remote.

The Skip buttons will make a 3-hour jump in the guide.

The old DishPlayer 7100 (you converts can think Ultimate TV 0.9) had a list feature, but it was removed around 10 years ago and it hasn't been added to any other Dish receiver.
