I had the same problem and think it might have to do with Dish not turning on the channels until the moment the games were scheduled on the on-screen guide. So, when you and I set the DVR to record, it as usual started one minute before the game timer was to start, so when it did that the system told it that channel was unavailable and it recorded 6 hrs of nothing. I'm going to try next weekend to have the timer start without the one-minute early setting and see if it will let me watch my game. This was extremely frustrating, since it is the opposite of how they run RSN alternates, which are always on, with a placeholder screen when a game isn't playing. You'd think the Dish folks would have been smart enough to turn on the channels at least 5 minutes before timers across the country are going to start recording the games!norton54 said:I don't what is up with the BTN but I set my DVR to record a ball game that was listed on one of the alternates but when I tried to watch it a message came across saying my smart card could not record this channel and I had 6 hrs of nothing. It showed in the my recordings menu though that the game was there. I was really looking forward to coming home and watching it.
Did you confirm that this was the problem? I had this happen to me this past weekend while I was out of town. It seems silly, but if that's what the problem is I'll just need to remember to adjust the timer. If someone could confirm, that would be great!ernste40 said:I had the same problem and think it might have to do with Dish not turning on the channels until the moment the games were scheduled on the on-screen guide.
