OTA and Cable?

I have a 722 hooked up to a Pioneer Plasma through HDMI. I have my internet and phone through my cable co. and I noticed that they also are giving me TV. I hooked the cable directly to my tv. I get the HD, digital, and analog channels.

Can I use the 722's input to view these channels, and get a guide for them. The only difference with my cable co is that i get a few different channels in HD that dish doesn't give me. Like FX. and will it output it right along with the SAT through the HDMI?

No, the 722 only has a digital ATSC tuner for off air. Qam is not supported.
ok a QAM tuner would be a great feature in the next Dish box

I doubt that you will ever see that in a satellite receiver. While the feature might make a lot of sense to customers the marketing department would never allow it.

Agreee on the marketing department. Note the following, which I reported before.

The ViP622 (probably the others, but I don't have the info) "doesn't have an enabled QAM tuner.

It uses the Broadcom BCM3517 chip.

This chip supports QAM.
