Does anybody have the OTA from Directv? I am thinking of signing up and the only thing holding me back in getting my locals in HD. I currently get them in HD from my cable company but I want to drop them. I have tried a couple of small indoor antennas and have picked up one or two of the closer channels but can not get all of them. I was thinking of getting a Channel Master and mount it in my attic but was thinking I might just get the OTA from D*. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with their antenna and if it was worth anything. I know that my locals can be picked up from a small indoor antenna because family members are picking there's up that way, but I guess my location isn't as good as theirs. Thanks for the help and love the forum!

I hear it is late 2006 but some say early 2007.

I'm in Jacksonville, Florida and I'm waiting for DTV HD Locals or OTA.
I bet will come in early 2007:(

You'll be better off with a good Channel Master antenna than the wimpy antenna typically provided by DirecTV installers. Of course, a lot depends on where you're located relative to your local station transmitters. Check out these resources for antenna recommendations ....

this is very true. They bring out a lame omni antenna. You would be better off with a coat hanger on your roof.

Well if by the end of the year we do not see Jax local I will get an out door antenna "I am using indoor antenna" :D

Thanks for your help Guys.

Also on the D* list on when HD locals may be coming it says for Huntsville-Decatur, not yet. Is that better than not available?
Didn't know if that meant coming sooner or later?
