Is there a reason they have a welcome to former DBSTalk members on their home page?

Other forum apparently confused. Check out "The OT" for some information.

On Monday DBSTalk changed the rules on Potpourri and renamed the forum.
Apparently some see this as the end of DBSTalk.
Others saw the AVS merge last year as the end of DBSTalk.

We're still here and are not going away!

DBSTalk.com is a family-friendly site that welcomes everyone willing to follow its
guidelines for conduct. For the good of everyone, all that is asked is that our users
simply follow the posted rules and comport themselves in a reasonable manner.

A very few who either objected to recent changes or, perhaps misunderstand our
goals, have voiced their objection to the new policies. This is fine, and it is good
that several other sites have offered a place to continue their ongoing debates
over politics, religion and other endless, circular arguments.

The OT, formerly Potpourri, is still open for most off-topic posts and discussion.

I believe that the other site has indicated that former members here who are upset about a certain change in policy are welcome there. They have not implied (and I think that is what you meant to say) that this site is no longer operational.

in the interest of full disclosure I was a mod there but I have no axe to grind concerning any of the DBS sites.
