Granted it's owned but you may want to consider adjusting your asking price. SolidSignal sells them for a lot less.
Solid Signal doesn't "sell" them they lease them. This person is selling an owned one. I'm sure you know the difference between a leased and owned receiver.

Yeah, just like I know their asking price ($199.00) Vs the Op's asking price ($300.00). ;)

$199 is a LEASED PRICE!

TO OP!
I agree $320 is steep for a Used owned receiver.;)

What did you pay for it might I ask?

??????......My first post I responded to the OP. My second was to TBlazer07 acknowledging I know the difference between owned and leased and showed him the price differences. Never stated I purchased anything.

Wasn't asking you ! Only quoted you cause you seem to think Solid signal was selling OWNED units.

I must be selling mine at a different place than you have been looking at prices! ;) I've recently sold 2 owned, one for $300 and the other for $290 picked up. I also sold 2 HR20-100's for $250 each (but that was a few months ago).

Personally, I think a used owned one has more value than a "new" leased one considering the POSSIBLE ETF a leased one would have for a person who doesn't plan on staying at his location for 2 years after getting the leased one. $199 NEW LEASE + $240 ETF (assuming 1 year of use before moving) is a lot more than $300. The purchase value depends on a number of things mainly WHERE you sell it.

Some are selling for less than $200 on eBay - and there are some on Craigslist
Yea, and most (despite what they claim) are not owned but were previously leased or have a balance on them which would mean when the buyer goes to activate it DirecTV won't allow it. I've checked 3 or 4 allegedly owned ones in the past and they all were actually were not owned. Many sellers either are not telling the truth or don't know the difference.

I have purchased a number of owned units in the past 60 days off eBay and Craigslist and have yet to have 1 with the problem you describe.

Every item I have purchased I have had the Access Card Department verify it is owned and can be added to the account and had them noted as such on the account prior to purchase so there is no issue.

As long as one does their homework, deals can be found.

I purchased an owned HR24-200 for $130 just this past week.

Also, especially if you do not have safeguards in place, make sure YOU GET A .JPG OF THE RID. I've noticed that one of my units that was listed on eBay with RID number is on a number of scam sites (most domains in other Countries) listing that receiver RID so if someone called DirecTV to check, they would report it as owned (though the buyer would probably end up just losing their money). Reported this to DirecTV and they really didn't seem to care about protecting their customers if someone called in to verify the RID number of my unit - so clearly there are scams out there - but not like you are reporting.

Just purchased a HR24-100 Owned in great shape (only used for 2 months) for $100. Could have gotten it cheaper but did not feel like wasting time for another $10 or $20 and possibly losing the unit to someone else.

There is a HR24-200 the Directv Employee wants $60 for. If I pick it up, will be the cheapest HR24 yet.

OP, I would ask the mods to close this thread and you can start another.

Seems like everyone wants to threadcrap in this one.

Folks, if you don't like the price, move on. Don't threadcrap.

the dtv employee is not allowed to sell his or her hd dvr.

and i would be skeptical that a dvr for $100 wasn't leased.
