A&E Network gave the green light for their second original scripted drama titled 'The Beast',starring Patrick Swayze in June 2008.A&E gave the OK for 13 1-hour episodes,to be filmed this summer in Chicago.Tentative premiere for the series is set for early 2009.

The 55 year old actor announced in March 2008 that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.After undergoing chemotherapy treatments,Swayze was spotted yesterday at LAX,appearing healthy and in good shape.He called himself "a miracle" while on his way to catch a flight to Chicago to go to work on the upcoming series.

Last I heard, Patrick was on his deathbed from cancer.. looks like he's doing better, however.

Dumb question. Why is the Premiere at 9 CT only 52 minutes long and the first replay at 9:52 CT goes to 11, 1 Hour and 8 minutes. What is going on in that extra 16 minutes? Maybe they are going to hold back on some commercials on the Premiere and load them up on the first rerun :lol:.

I watched the premiere episode of the new series.I like what I have seen so far.It looks like it may be a pretty good series.
Swayze's character definitely has an "edge" to him. :)

That's what I was thinking...haha. Though I watched the first airing.

Will definitely be tuning in again next week! :up:

After the first 10 minutes I thought "here is another Jack Bauer or Dirty Harry". I was on the edge of my seat through the first 4 hours of 24. This show did not keep my interest the same way. Giving his brother in law a gun as a solution to all his problems. :nono2: He is a law enforcement officer, but I do not think he really knows what he is fighting for. Jack Bauer knows he has crossed the line but Charlie does not believe he has. I will give it a few more tries.
