The pause key (=) used to work while in Guide or List mode, and now it doesn't. I often used it, to suppress the current channel while I browsed through the Guide or List directory. Anyone know why this changed, or if it can be modified?

Another workaround is to keep this discussion going (but civil) and hopefully D* programmers see we want it back!

This happened a while back and sorry to say but it appears this is the way they intend it to be for the future. There is not a workaround and there will not be one.
Scott, would you happen to know if there's a logical reason for this? Something we can all accept? It's just a minor annoyance, but I can see how folks would be troubled by this.

The only good thing to come out of this is you can now press and hold the pause button to activate slow motion, which should have been done a long time ago. Activating slow motion before was such a pain, you had to plan ahead to get it to work.

Worse than not working. It does work, just not to pause the program in the PIG. It starts play on the highlighted program in the LIST. BOOOOOOO

There is kind of a workaround: press pause before pressing LIST or GUIDE. That's about all you can do.
Except say you Pause a show, hit List and Play a recording. At the end of the recording, you choose to Delete it. You are then returned to the PlayList and the show you had paused is now playing. Since it is a show that you are/had recording and don't want to see right now, you can't just hit Pause to stop it from playing. You would need to exit the PlayList and hit Pause and then go back in (and we know how long it takes with the lag of remote and exiting menus) or you need to try to change the channel, if you are not already recording two things.
