Pegasus said it helped FBI personnel in the arrest and indictment of three individuals in Round Rock, Texas, allegedly involved in satellite TV piracy.
Duy Kha Nguyn, Tung Ngo and Linda Thu Pham, all of Round Rock, were each charged with with one count of violating U.S. law prohibiting activities related to the theft of satellite television programming and with one count of money laundering. They were charged in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in Austin, Pegasus said.
As a result of the charges, the government seized more than $100,000 in cash and property from the group, Pegasus said. If convicted, the charged individuals also could be subject to substantial fines and up to 20 years in prison.
It's alleged that the group operated an organization called Virgin Cleaners that was a major supplier of components used in satellite TV signal theft. The group is accused of using three Web sites to sell and distribute illegal satellite TV equipment to the public, Pegasus said.
