So my wife just sent me a picture of our TV that is running on the Hopper and the picture is tinted pink.
She put it a DVD and it works fine but when she gets back to the Satelite, it's pink, all channels, DVR menu and guide.

Does that sound like my Hopper is screwed up?

It could also be the HDMI Cable or a slightly loose connection of HDMI cables. You might try wiggling the HDMI cables while observing the picture to see if that makes a difference.

Yup. Had a similar issue with a loose component video cable about 18 months ago.

This happens to several brands of TVs. It usually turns out to be the cable or it's connection socket.

Sometimes replacing the cable with a different one will fix it.

Sometimes, as previously posted, reseating the connection on each end will fix it.

Sometimes using the TV remote and move off the correct input and cycle back to it will cause the software to re do the HDMI Handshake and fix it.

Sometimes it appears to be the software in the Satellite receiver.

I hope it's not the dreaded old PSOD returning to haunt us!
