Planet Green HD searching for satellite

908 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  cyclejim
I was excited to watch Planet Green in HD (ch 286) but over the weekend I tried to watch it and got the dreaded searching for satellite signal. I tried some other channels (ESPN) and getting the same thing. They all seem to be on the same satellite, if I remember correctly it was all the odd transponders on one of them.. I think 99c...

Anyhow called in and CSR says this is happening everywhere and to be patient that it should be fixed soon. But seems odd that I have 0 signal on those odd transponders. She gave me 3 months free HBO and sent me on my way.

Anyone else not getting Planet Green in HD??

I'm going to go out on a limb here, as you didn't list your EQUIPMENT that you are having trouble with, or a complete description of your DirecTV setup.

But literally tons of people have posted here complaining about problems with the 99c reception, and it has (of course) nothing whatsoever to do with the actual transmission, but of course bad equipment that operates perfectly fine on all the Ku/DBS sats AND 103c (and probably 103s and 99s as well).

That limb? I'll bet you have multiple receivers, and utilize a WB68 in your system. It's either that or your LNB is out of wack (either alignment, you don't list your signal strengths but I'll 'assume' that your reporting is correct).

There have been at least 3-4 other folks here who broke down and replaced their WB68's. If you can, indulge me and confirm your system layout; didn't the CSR have you test the other leads off your dish?

No problems whatsoever with my Planet Green HD or any of the other channels on 99c. Sounds like it's a multiswitch problem or B-Band connectors. Call DirecTV back and insist that they roll a truck to you. Don't let them get away with that "It's happening to everyone" line. It's not, just with people with defective equipment.
Thanks guys. I have just the 5 LNB slimline dish, and thanks for confirming its not happening to everyone. My signal levels on the even transponders on 99c are in the 40s and the odd transponders are all zeros. I will call them back and have send someone out. :D

There's part of your problem right there. TPS should be running much higherl. You need your Dish aligned also.

I have them coming on Saturday, I'll report back then. Thanks again!
