Poor Picture Quality
Greetings to all. I am a recent subscriber to Directv and have an HR 21 HD DVR. I live in Springfield, Ma and I notice the picture quality to be poor on my local CBS and ABC stations. NBC and FOX are coming in fine.
The colors are pale and the picture looks washed out. I am viewing this on a SD tv set that is 12 years old. Any else experience this? Any explanation as to why the picture is so poor will be appreciated.

As this is for specific local channels, your best bet is to contact the engineering staff at those channels.
Also, you could go to this thread on avsforum to ask others if they are having the issue either through DirecTV or from other sources (OTA, cable, etc.) to see if it is a problem with the channels or with the DirecTV pipeline:

The locals in many markets do not look very good, mine included.
