I never see anything close to my 18 Mbps download... I suspect this is partly a Dish server thing and partly intentional... You would not want your receiver sometimes to take all your bandwidth and then your computer web browsing became slow.
Poor quality on DISH ONLIE
I have 26mbps Down and 13mbps Up, and since last week my DISH ONLIE quality is down to the minimum. It does does steam smoothly on any of other other settings. I have confirmed that my speed is at the speeds mentioned above. I have tried it from 5 different locations all with the same results and with enough bandwidth. My guess it is on the DISH side. Anyone else noticed this?

Since I got my 922 I was able to receive HD quality video at the BEST/HD settings. For a week now the bandwidth is being limited to 150-200kbps and I can only play at the lowest crappiest video settings. It may be as you mentioned DISH server limiting all connections to the lowest setting to view video. I am of course guessing in the second part... But it made sense in my mind last night. I still suspect, as you probably do too, that a lot of it is a bandwidth or server capacity issue. I know Disney's web site is unreadable every Tuesday that they have a coupon for a new release movie... True for several years now and they haven't improved their network to handle the peak demand.
The speed tests tests generally last for only 20 seconds or so, and lead you to believe your have a much better service than you really have. Download a file that is large enough to take a number of minutes, and monitor the speed to see what you are really getting. You will probably be disappointed.
