Is there anyway to stop that annoying popup that shows up when you are in the guide and set something to record? The one that says to press info for recording options bla bla bla.

Yes, press menu-->Parental, Fav's & Setup-->System Setup-->Display-->Recording Tips turn it off.

I thought that at first until my mother mentioned that it help her to set up her first series link. She never knew she could double tap the record button to set it automatically. Not all of us are tech pros or read www.dbstalk.com!

Personally, as a newer user, I like the popup... In fact I wish there were more on-screen tips. But per the screen after the DL, it can be turned off (as you know now).

I also wish there was a pop up instructing the user how to turn it off. I'm glad the pop-up is there for the non-dbstalkers - but maybe it should turn it's self off after 10 pop ups or so.......
