I was looking at att and i see where i can get dish and the internet pretty cheap in a bundle so i am thinking about maybe switching. But anyway does anyone have or know where i can see some screen shots or something of the current dish HD DVR that i would be getting if i did order so i can see what the guides, menus and all that look like?

I moved from that other satellite company to Dish a couple of years ago, when Dish was the only one in my area that offered local channels. The other company had no desire to offer me a deal, until I told them to cancel my subscription. Then, they were falling all over themselves to try and get me to stay.

Now, I get letters all the time asking me to "come back" because of their new great deal. But, when you read the fine print, you either have to sign up for their top of the line package and keep it for 2 years, or you can have either a free DVR upgrade or a free HD receiver upgrade (but not a free HD DVR upgrade).

So, I'll never go back.

If you are happy with DTV, I would highly recommend you stay. I recently moved to an MDU and was forced to switch to Dish via ATT. At best so far, I would say their service is ok. I don't want to slam Dish, but after taking a week to get used to a new DVR and channel lineup I'm not happy with the switch. Even with the issues that I had with DTV's HD box, I believe it is a far superior unit when it comes to user interface.

Also be aware that if you are switching to Dish via ATT, you will have to deal with ATT for any customer service issues. Since they are merely managing accounts and installation, they can't negotiate issues and discounts as if you were dealing with the sat provider itself.

Yeah its also between Uverse. DTV did a nice counter offer, and if it were up to me wed just stay no. The familiarity, new price offer, equipment, quality, service are all pros for DTV. I think Id also prefer Dish over Uverse. But wife is also included in this decision.

That is not completely true. I have Dish through AT&T. When my locals were offered in HD I needed a wing dish to pick them up. They wanted to charge me $50 to install it (same fee as a Dish direct charge). I contacted Dish directly expressing my displeasure with the extra fee.... Dish sent out an installer and put up the wing dish for free with no contract extension.

The advantage I have found with dealing with AT&T is you get to talk to a US based CSR rather then some Dish CSR located in a country you've never heard of :)

It may be a different story for me since I'm in an MDU and am sharing a dish with a whole complex. When I've tried to deal with Dish directly, they were completely hands off when I told them I live in a 3rd floor apartment.

I'm just disappointed that as a new Dish/ATT subscriber I am paying more for less than what I was paying with DTV after 8 years.
