potential new customer question

i am a potential new customer....how is service in inclement weather compared to time warner cable? What should I expect from the service and the HD package.

Greetings and welcome to the forum from another NC'er. If your dish is installed properly and you have a good line of sight to the satellites (looking southwest), then the only time you should lose signal is during the heaviest rain during a heavy thunderstorm. My service will drop about 30-60 seconds before huge water drops start hitting the house since most Tstorms come from the southwest..

Interruptions are usually short lived (5 minutes or less) for most storms.

I usually compare it to cable this way: satellite will go out a bit more frequently than cable; but the total amount of time without service is usually less than cable. (While my cable used not to go out all that frequently, when it did it was out for hours.)
