So, I had a fierce thunderstorm here last night, which knocked out power for a few minutes. Now, my DVR - PC connection via Wireless Belkin gaming router is shot! Can no longer view videos/audio from TV (was workign with TVERSITY fine).

How do I know the adapter is still fine?

Where to begin to fix?

Hold down the info button your remote for 5 seconds, and it will run through the DVR status. It will list the network statistics. I'm guessing the port on the DVR is fried, or the port on your router. Plug the DVR into another switch port :)

Login to your router, and see what devices are associated with the router and note the IP and name of the device. If you installed TVERSITY you should be able to do this :)

Do this - unplug your router. Move the network cable for the DVR to another empty switch port on the router, plug in the router and try again. If that doesn't work, something is damaged in the DVR and you'll have to contact D*

The router only has one port... it's a Belkin adapter.

How would I know if the problem is the adapter or the DVR?

Did you rerun the network setup and restart the DVR? I know you say it sees the network but gets the error 22. I have had the same thing when I have had to work on my network for other reasons. The DVR needed a restart after the network is up and running.

I am having a similar issue. Last week I tested DOD and it worked, now it acts like it's not seeing the internet. Running the network tool shows that the DVR acknowledges that it can see my network just fine, but it claims that it can't connect to the internet (sometimes it returns error 22, sometimes error 62, but both seem to say the same thing). I can see in my router that it is renewing IP leases. I can ping the DVR from another PC on the network. Other PCs have no problem getting to the internet. I have no restrictions in the router that should affect this, and nothing has been changed in the router since last week when DOD worked. I've had no power outages... everything is on a UPS. I've tried doing a reset on the network settings, then re-running setup. I've restarted the DVR. I've rebooted the router. The only things that have changed are: I added an external drive, I've added the AM21, and it got a software update.

How does it test for internet connectivity? I assume it trys to ping a DirecTV server? If so, I could try to do the same on my PC to see if it is the DVR, or something between me and DirecTV.

Ok, still having this issue. It's not the wireless Belkin adapter... I connected that to my PC and was able to get to the internet.

So... any ideas on what I can do to fix this issue? Could the port on the DVR gone bad?

Oh, one other question... when I login to my Verizon Westell wireless modem/router.... should I "see" the Belkin listed under my network? I only see my laptop listed. Could that be the problem why I can't connect to the Internet?

I had the same problem with a power outage about a month ago. Everything works except for Media Share. it says the Network is connected, but no internet. I can still use DOD and download everything. It just doesn't show my computer anymore (Music & Photos in the menu).

I have tried everything.. all the recomendations in the How to Guide. I need help. I get the same internet errors explained above.

I have comcast, WRT54GS router. Bother HR20 and Comuter are plugged in physically. WMP11. Eveything worked for over a year even during each upgrade. It still shows the DVR on the media sharing screen.

I have Mcafee firewall, but never had to change anything for it to work. I have tried all of the suggestions in the article.. nothing helped. I changed all settings back to original.

Any help would be appriciated. Can you explain the recongfiguring the router to the modem, or any other ideas?
