I assume these are automatic with the option to force the box to check for an update. Is there a way to "prevent" the automatic update? I don't think I'd actually do this, though I'm happy with the stabliity of my box this week... just wanted to know if this were possible.

There is currently no way to prevent an automatic/forced software update to the HR20.

Well, I suppose you could leave the satellite cables disconnected
