What if you don't want to record the primetime programs on the primetime timer at night, can you use that 4th timer in the hopper as a regular timer and record 1 channel with it like you do with the other timers?

Hopper only has 3 tuners, not 4. But turning off PTAT does free up the one tuner it would have used otherwise. So yes you can turn off PTAT and use the tuner for recording 1 channel.

I see. I was under the impression that it had 4 tuners and one was dedicated to recording the PTAT.

When PTAT is enabled, it does have top priority for recording and uses a tuner. When PTAT is disabled, you do have use of all 3 tuners to record or watch Live TV. Thanks.
