Problem with 612 and Seagate EHD

I have a VIP612 and just replaced a failing 750GB Western Digital EHD with a 1T Seagate GoFlex Ultra-Portable drive. I'm off to a shaky start...

The drive was recognized and formatted, but it showed only about 500GB available. What???

I transferred a couple recordings to it without a problem. I power cycled the 612 once to see if that would fix the capacity reported - no change. I also unplugged the 612 once, but still no change.

At one point, a warning displayed which referred to an unsupported device.

I'm hesitant to continue adding more recordings to the EHD for fear of ultimately losing them.

Any advise or insight?

Does the EHD have it own power supply and in a single tier case? Please unplug the EHD from the 612 and unplug the 612 from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds. Then plug the 612 back into the outlet. After the receiver reboots, please plug the EHD into the USB port.

If you continue to have issues, please PM me your account number so I can send an authorization to your receiver. Please let me know. Thanks.
