I've had this happen a couple times myself. All I did was went into settings, turned off Dolby Digital then the sound came back on. Then I turn DD back on. So far, this has only happened after a software update.
This worked for me too. Why one should have to do these kind of things is beyond me.jimbop99 said:I've had this happen a couple times myself. Try resetting your receiver.tigercat74 said:Turning it on and off did not fix it. It is a HR24/500.
That's why I asked if it was a 500. Have experienced this myself and a few other postings with same issue on 500's. I found it occurs on my LG TV but not my Sharp TV.tigercat74 said:Turning it on and off did not fix it. It is a HR24/500.

Did you turn it on again?tigercat74 said:Turning off the Dolby Digital did fix the problem.
Other than manufacturer, I thought the HR24-100 and 500 were the same. Is there other differences?tigercat74 said:Turning it on and off did not fix it. It is a HR24/500.
HR24-500 has a different hardware chipset, and outputs RGB video rather than YPrPb used by other HR24's.allenn said:Other than manufacturer, I thought the HR24-100 and 500 were the same. Is there other differences?
.
I have an HR24-500. I am using both HDMI (to a TV) and component (to a HD video encoder on my computer) at the same time, with no issues.ncsercs said:I have 2 HR24-500's. That's why I can't use HDMI cables and use component instead.
