Although I've never posted before, I've been visiting this site for months. I got home last night and got the dreaded Searching for signal 771 code last night on YES. It was late, and I didn't have time to check any other channels.

When I checked my signal strength this is what I got on 103c
91 0 85 0 88 0 84 0
86 0 87 0 86 0 n n
89 n n n n 0n

As you can see, I'm getting all 0s on the even transponders.

Oh and I have the HR20-700 with a multisitch. Been fine since October.

Any suggestions?

Check all your connections for tightness or moisture, check your bbc's , is it on BOTH tuners or only one?

Is it only the 103C satellite that's affected?
I'm not sure. I did jot down the numbers from all Sats this morning. Here's what I had:

101
95 94 95 97 95 98 95 98
95 95 95 99 95 98 95 98
95 100 95 95 95 97 96 98
95 97 95 92 96 98 95 98

119
n n n n n n n n
n n n n n n n n
n n n n n 0 0 98
51 97 72 72 59 98 0 99

99
100 33 99 28 95 83
n n n n n n n n
n n n n n n n n
n n n n n n n n
n n n n n n n n

103s
0 0 0 0 0 0 n n
n n n n n n 96 0
88 0 95 0 24 0 95 0

Since it's all the evens I'd definitely suspect an issue with the multiswitch or cabling related to it.
Right. I'd be particularly suspicious of the connector (loose/corroded) coming out of the multi-switch marked "18V + 22Khz," because this is the dish line that controls the 103(c) evens. You might normally expect that not to be the problem, since you have reception on the 119 evens, which is also controlled on that line. But even though it doesn't make sense, I and other members have reported that problems effecting only the 103(c)'s were caused by connectors being loose or corroded.

18v+22khz controls signals for 110 and 119 as far as I know. 103c would be 13 and 18v without 22khz.

I would suspect bad B-band converter since the problem is only on 103 satellite.

Also need to check any cable thats run under the carpet, even a little pinch/bend/staple will cause signal interruption.

103 uses the 22KHz tone (as well as 110 and 119).

Code:
Polarity RHCP LHCP RHCP LHCP
Output 13V 18V 13V22KHz 18V22KHz
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ka-Lo 99 odd 99 even 103 odd 103 even
Ku 101 odd 101 even 119 odd 110/119 even
Ka-Hi 99 odd 99 even 103 odd 103 even

I looked at all the connections and they seemed to be tight. I have a technician coming out tomorrow. (They work on the 4th, who knew?) Hopefully he or she will be able to fix the problem. Thanks for all your help. I'll let you know the results.
