My Ultimte TV program screen is hard to read, especially the "information" section of the program guide. The info section is dark gray with light gray text fonts. There is not enough contrast between background and text, even though I have manually adjust contrast as much as possible. The text in the program guide is white so it is easier to read due to better contrast, though I think the font is too small.
Is the screen/font color setting a function of D*, the UTV receiver, or the UTV service? Is there anyway it can be adjusted or changed, other than the TV's brightness, contrast controls?
Thanks,
Ken

Mine is fine as well. The information section of the program guide on mine is green with white writing, not gray.

Okay, mine might be green instead of gray (I'm color blind) but the info section, (I'm talking about individual program information-Plot, actors, etc) in the upper part of the screen has a grayish text that does not contrast well with its background. The text in the Program Guide itself is bright white and easier to read.
In the UTV setup, you can adjust the screen somewhat but when I adjust brightness until that large "A" almost disappears, the picture is just too dark.
I suppose it could be my ten year old TV but other than this text issue, I have a great picture.

I agree with you Kenster.

I've noticed all the newer receivers aren't really designed to be read by anyone with less than perfect vision. They're making these things to look "cool" in the showroom and when you first hook it up. But after the novelty wears off, you're wishing for a guide that was more plain and more readable.

lee635, I just think they are designing them with newer, better, clearer, bigger TV sets in mind.
And that could very well be the case with my problem. My MGA/Mitsubishi is about 12 years old. So old, that RCA universal remotes do have codes for it! I already have a bug for a new 27 incher. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.
