From looking at my first bill, one of my 2 SD receivers has the protection plan and the HD DVR does not. And reading from the forums here if anything goes wrong with my DVR I must pay $20 to have it replaced. Can I call in and have the DVR set as the primary receiver? this will be the most used in the house by far so I'd rather have it set to primary. Will this be possible? Plus in looking at my bill it is all jumbled with charges and credits for dvr and hd access fees that don't apply to certain receivers. So maybe that will straighten it out?

If you have a line item for the Protection Plan, rest assured all of your equipment is covered. The protection plan applies to all equipment on your account, including the satellite dish, switches and splitters, and even the RG6 cable and the connectors.

The programming package and services, such as HD Access, DVR, etc., also apply to your account.

The only fees that apply to individual receivers are the "mirroring fees", which for now are called "Additional Receiver" if you own the receiver, or "Leased Receiver" if it is leased. DIRECTV will be changing the names for this "mirroring fee" in February. With DIRECTV the primary receiver does not pay a mirroring fee, so you will see it charged and then see a credit for it. If you have more than one receiver, those extra receivers will be charged a fee.

Hope this helps...
