If this receiver is currently listed on your account and you have the protection plan I don't know why DirecTV wouldn't replace it. Of course it would be a different receiver. I would call them and see what they offer.blspear said:

I have an old Sony SAT-A65 receiver that has quit working. It will not power on at all. I have the protection plan but is legacy receiver like this one covered? Will they replace the unit at all? Thanks in advance.

Did you call them yet? Update us on how you do with them. Paying that protection plan in the long run is worth it IMHO that is.
