Can anybody recommend a good set of combining diplexers and splitting diplexers for use with the SWM8? I have an install scheduled for 08/23 and I have ordered an SWM from SolidSignal that I plan to set up before the installer arrives so all he theoretically has to do is set up the dishes (I'm a 72.5 market), connect them to the SWM and connect the receivers on the other side. After the install is done I want to add diplexing for OTA. I tried doing a search to figure out which diplexers to use but couldn't get a good feel on which ones were *known* to work with the SWM. Here is a diagram of what I intend to do.

I chose an SWS4 so that I could add another up to 2 HDDVRs later without much trouble.

Anybody know which diplexers are proven for this setup? Thanks for any help or points in the right direction.

i use NAS 9501 diplexors. sorry but i do not have a link for them

I didn't find the NAS 9501 diplexer the last couple of times I looked for it on their website, but yesterday I called my NAS distributor, NACE, and they have it listed in their inventory as out-of-stock.

It is more difficult to successfully diplex two-way cable with SWM than to diplex off-air antenna with it, because the zone between the SWM return frequency of 2.3 MHz, and the cable companies sub band return signals, which can be as low as about 10 MHz, is so small that it requires that the lowpass and highpass contours within the diplexer be carefully engineered so as to not compromise either one.

Other posters here have had good luck using Channel Master and Radio Shack diplexers to combine SWM with off-air, but at present, I don't know of any product other than the NAS 9501 that is optimized for combining SWM with two-way cable's sub-band return signal.

I've been a little confused when reading about the OTA going into the switch, then from the switch to the HR20. Is this the right way to do it, or am I okay the way I have it. I have my OTA going straight into the HR20 from outside, not using the switch at all. I split my OTA to the bedroom and added a preamp from RadioShack that has helped boost the signal. Is it better to have the OTA go into the switch, then split it, or am I fine?

it works better without the switch. only use the switch if you dont want to pull extra cable

Channelmasters at solidsignal work good for me.
