The past few days i have been having signal issues where the picture is cutting out of total loss of satellite signal. My last resort was changing out the sl3 lnb today but still no good. I have -27db at the dish with signal quality of 100. 70ft away at the swm16, i have -32db and signal quality of 99. At the receivers, i have about -35db and signal quality of 99. I have changed out the following.... LNB, SWM16, power inserter, splitters. I dont know what else to do. The only other thing that i can think of is that BOTH SWM16s are bad all of a sudden (they were previously cascaded together) but thats really hard to believe. I will have picture for a few secs or minutes until it randomly breaks up. Its happening on all receivers. any ideas?

What are the exact symptoms of your "total loss of satellite signal"? Any on-screen error messages? Do you lose both audio and video?

Perhaps it's an intermittent or defective coax connector somewhere? Likely locations would be at your ground block or dish LNB.

Either searching for satellite signal or problem communicating with dish. When it doesn't go out totally, it's just breaking up a lot. Last night some of the receivers were totally fine while others weren't. And I have changed the coax connectors already.

Have you replaced your ground block? Is it properly connected to your home's electrical ground?

no grounding blocks. Lines run straight from roof through house to basement then to swm16.

Does one of the coax cables have a ground wire moulded to it and then grounded to the SWM16 ?

That cable should be grounded. This might be the cause of your issues.

i agree they should be grounded, and i will. But they have been ungrounded for 4 years now without any issues.

Well, it seems you've replaced everything this. Not sure what more to suggest.
